Mrs. Daugherty was born in Bowdon, Georgia, May 17, 1920, daughter of the late Sylvester and Cordie Cook Phillips. She was retired from the Arrow Shirt Company after 40 years of service and was a
Member of Five Points Baptist Church in Waco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Daugherty and a brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Amy Phillips.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Tommy Summey of Cartersville; a grandson, Brandon Summey and his wife, LeAnn ; a great-grandson, Gray Summey, all of Cartersville; special friends, Martha Nelson, Gwen Newsome and Nancy Webb; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Owen Funeral Home Saturday from 4-7 p.m.
Services will be Sunday, September 9, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Owen Funeral with Rev. James Rich and Rev. Sanford Thomas officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Elrod, Donny Ruff, John Smith and Milton Daugherty.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 5 p.m. from the Five Points Baptist Church Cemetery in Waco with Rev. Bradford Thomas officiating. Hightower Funeral Home of Bremen is in charge of the graveside service.
