Mr. Glen Durwood Turner, age 85, of Lovvorn Road, Carrollton, Georgia, died Thursday, September 6, 2012.

Mr. Turner was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on January 5, 1927, the son of the late S. H. Turner and Rubie Goulding Turner.

He served in the U.S. Army, retired from Douglas and Lomason and was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Joel Chambers of Franklin, Jean and Jerry Burdette of Bremen; grandchildren, Olivia Rhodes, Matt Chambers, Melissa Dickinson; great-grandchildren, John Rhodes, Payton Rhodes, Lizzy Chase; sister, Tommie Milam of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Capps Turner; brothers, Thomas Turner, Robert Turner, Olin Turner; sisters, Mary Mozelle Lawson and Magdalene Shelton.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday, September 9, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Funeral service will be Sunday, September 9, at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Calhoun officiating.

Interment will be in the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with American Legion Post #143 folding and presenting the flag.
