Harold Shedd makes his way down the red carpet at Mill Town in Bremen Thursday prior to a tribute concert in his honor. The Haralson County native, born in Buchanan and raised in Bremen, either produced or discovered many country music stars, such as Reba McEntire, Billy Ray Cyrus and Shania Twain. Several big names from country music, including Mel Tillis, members of the group Alabama, Doug Stone and John Barry, attended Thursday’s ceremony. Earlier in the day, the section of U.S. 27 in Haralson County that runs between the Carroll and Polk county borders was renamed the “Harold Shedd Highway.”
