Rayford Buchanan, 81, of Carrollton died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012. He was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Carroll County, Ga., the son of the late Emory Buchanan and Lucy Daniel Buchanan.

Mr. Buchanan was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Oley Buchanan, Henry Buchanan, Grover Buchanan, Leroy Buchanan, Irene Carroll, Kate Patterson, Reba Smith and Lila Mae Ayers.

Survivors include his brother, Ezra Buchanan of Carrollton, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel in Carrollton with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
