Authorities are holding a 49-year-old Carrollton man on numerous charges after he allegedly stabbed a woman several times in the arms and legs in a Friday morning domestic dispute.

David Bryant Morrow of Brock Street, Carrollton, was being held in Carroll County jail Friday afternoon, charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment, according to Capt. Jeff Richards of the Sheriff’s Office. He said several other charges are pending outcome of the investigation.

Richards said officers were called about 11:45 a.m. to a home on Burson Road, just off Tyus Road. They found a 47-year-old woman with several cuts and stab wounds on her arms and legs. She was taken to Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton for treatment.

“The suspect had fled the scene, but officers confronted a man fitting the suspect’s description, sitting behind a nearby church,” he said. “He initially gave them a false name and address.”

Richards said the suspect is a boyfriend of the victim.

In another unrelated incident, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 2 a.m., Thursday call in the 2300 block on Mt. Zion Road, Carrollton.

They found one man grazed in the back by a bullet and another who claimed to have been struck in the head by a blunt object, according to Sgt. Marc Griffith.

“The men said they were on their front porch and were approached by an unknown assailant who had a mask over his face,” Griffith said. “They said they had been drinking and the details were fuzzy.”

Griffith said one victim claimed he was struck in the head and was incapacitated for a short time.

“The other victim said he ran to a back room and was shot a grazing blow by some type of firearm,” Griffith said.

He said injuries to both men were minor and both are expected to recover. He said a search of the area failed to turn up the suspect.

Griffith asked that anyone who may have information on the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 770-830-5916.
