A single-vehicle crash Saturday night caused the death of a 21-year-old Bremen man.

The crash reportedly occurred around 9:10 p.m. Saturday night on Rainey Road in Temple. Killed in the crash was Derek Dewberry, 21, a passenger in a Ford Mustang that was being driven by Andrew Bryant, 21. Tammy Athey, 25, was also a passenger.

Georgia State Patrol reported the vehicle left the road, crossed over a driveway, hit two mailboxes and then overturned. All three occupants were ejected from the convertible.

GSP reported that seat belts were not in use by any of the occupants and that blood was drawn to test for alcohol. The results of the tests have yet to be released.

Bryant, of Bremen, and Athey, of Buchanan, were transported to Atlanta Medical.

The crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending.

There are no allegations of drinking in this article. They merely state that the highway patrol drew blood to see if alcohol was a factor. That is a standard procedure for them in all fatal wrecks.

the driver was not drinkin and only derek and drew were ejected because they didn not have on seat bealts - tammy athey however was wearing her seat belt - and she walked away with no major injuries. drew was life flighted to atlanta medical and suffers from possibly a fractured wreck . these families and friends need prayers - not accusations.
