The Carrollton High School junior-varsity baseball team defeated Hillgrove on Thursday evening at the East Paulding Tournament, 6-4.

The Trojans got a complete-game, seven-inning effort from hurler Cooper Criswell, while Hayes Roach went 2-for-3 at the plate and Clay Marlar delivered a key sacrifice bunt.

Trojan coach Ryan Duffey noted that the team continues to work hard during a busy month of action.

“Overall, the kids played well. They’re kind of wore out and struggling a little bit with football workouts going on, but they keep battling,” Duffey said.

Carrollton returns to action today with 2:30 and 5 p.m. games in Hiram.
