Carrollton Police Department is still searching for a suspect after the Northside Drive Citgo station was burglarized Sunday night.

The burglary occurred just before midnight, Lt. James Perry said. The store was closed, and officers responded to the store’s alarm.

The store’s front door was shattered.

Officers searching the scene found Carrollton man William Beasley Jr., 36, slumped over in a car nearby, and police said they have reason to believe he is one of two perpetrators.

Beasley has been charged with burglary and driving with a suspended license.

Perry said CPD is not releasing the name of the other suspect until it has more information.

Also over the weekend, CPD arrested two residents for attempting to take $1,587 worth of merchandise from Target.

Robert White, 45, and Cokethea Russell, 43, both of Carrollton, were arrested Saturday after they passed all points of sale with a shopping cart full of merchandise.

The most expensive item was a sheet set costing $442, with the remaining items ranging from pajamas to children’s shoes.

Loss prevention officers stationed at Target recognized the two from a previous offense and watched them via the store’s surveillance system until they attempted to leave the store.

White and Russell were arrested on felony shoplifting charges.
