The West Georgia Technical College baseball team suffered an 11-3 setback to Middle Georgia College on Friday night at Stuckey Field in Cochran.

The Golden Knights (14-22, 5-9) have now dropped five straight conference games and the first of two in a four-game series against the Warriors (27-11, 13-5).

Middle Georgia broke open a 1-1 tie with a two-run third, then tacked on three runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to break the game open.

WGTC got its first run on an RBI single from Christian Prichard — a Bremen High School product — before adding two more runs in the ninth.

MGC starting pitcher Alex Rogers was dominant, as he held the Knights to one run on six hits while striking out 11 in six innings of work. WGTC batters struck out a season-high 15 times. The Knights did match Middle Georgia with 11 hits for the night, though.

Ryan Turner picked up the loss for the Knights, allowing six runs on seven hits in four innings.

The Knights and Warriors wrap up the series with a twin bill today, beginning at 2 p.m.
