Mrs. Parrie Bivins, age 85, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012. She was born December 23, 1926, in Ephesus, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Vinson Todd and Clara Todd Wiggins.

Mrs. Bivins was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady M. Bivins; sisters, Evelyn Violante’, Bovene Lanxton and Mavis Gay; brothers, Harold Todd, Glenn Todd and Dillard Todd.

Survivors include her children, Janie and James Crews of Carrollton, Sharon Prater of Bremen and Lyle Bivins of Carrollton; sister, Janelle Fletcher of Carrollton; brother, John Todd Jr. of Roopville; sisters-in-law, Ellen Todd of Roopville, Tokay Shoemake of Rome, Lutrell Prince of Carrollton, and Virginia Dover of Rockmart; grandchildren, Michael Strickland, Kim Bivins, Mark and Kristina Bivins, Chad Bivins, Nikki and Rodney Walker, Brandi and Michael Pearce, Christie and Michael Wagner, Nathan and Leslie Prater and Preston and Christy Prater; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Strickland, Ashlin Bivins, Kannon Bivins, Ethan Bivins, Alyssa Pearce, Sydney Pearce, Kennedy Pearce, Presley Walker, Rhet Walker, Cameron Smith, Zachary Smith, Natalie Payne and Kaydee Prater.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 13, 2012, at 1 p.m. from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Rice, Rev. Byron Spruell and Rev. Jim Fletcher officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Jason Berryhill officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
