Nancy was born on March 17, 1937, in Villa Rica, Carroll County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Robert Leonard and Clara Dobbins Matthews. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years and enjoyed working with her children’s youth baseball programs. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended Wise Drive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Robert Steven Meeks and his wife Deborah of Sumter; a sister, Sandra Matthews Smith of Villa Rica, Ga.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Meeks Bailey, Sonya Meeks Miller, MSgt. David Steven Meeks, Jennifer Meeks Weich and Kevin Meeks; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Sydney Meeks and Charles Wayne Meeks; a daughter, Therisa Delores Meeks; a brother, Anthony Wayne Matthews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2011, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the home of Steven and Deborah Meeks in Sumter, S.C.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery, Dallas, Ga.
A visitation will be held on Villa Rica, Ga., at the Jones Wynn Funeral Home on Monday, October 31, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m.
