With the 2011 football season fastly approaching, the University of West Georgia Athletic Department has kicked off its ticket sales to the general public for the Wolves’ upcoming campaign.

“Our season-ticket program has become a great success in our first two years in University Stadium,” said Senior Associate Athletic Director Eddie Duffey. “We are starting to see many of our fans build up a significant number of priority points.”

The 2011 slate features six home games, including three straight following UWG’s season opener at Tusculum on Sept. 3. West Georgia’s home opener is set for Sept. 15 when Miles College comes to town for a Thursday night game, followed by home tilts with Arkansas-Monticello on Sept. 24 and Henderson State on Oct. 1.

The first two home games are scheduled for 7 p.m., while the Wolves and Reddies will hit the field at 2 p.m. on UWG’s homecoming.

Two of West Georgia’s home games will be televised — the Sept. 15 Miles contest and the Oct. 20 Gulf South Conference battle against West Alabama.

The Wolves will also honor the 1981 football team in a 30-year reunion of the return of football to West Georgia on Sept. 24 against the Boll Weevils. UWG’s Hall of Fame game is slated for Oct. 15 against Saint Augustine.

West Georgia will close out its home schedule on Nov. 12 with Senior Night, where the Wolves will face national runner-up Delta State in a 2 p.m. affair.
