The Wolves (20-17, 9-6 GSC East) benefited from sloppy defense by the Lady Reddies. UWG scored 12 runs on eight hits and eight Henderson State (15-26, 9-11 GSC West) errors.
Leading West Georgia on offense was Kristin Hall, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. Meagan Sitton (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) and Kelsey Francen (2-3, RBI) also had multiple-hit efforts for the Wolves.
Antionette Diaz earned her 11th win of the season, going all five innings, giving up three runs — two earned — on seven hits, walking two and striking out one.
The Wolves scored all three of their runs in the top of the fourth inning against OBU.
Nicole Yancey got on with a one-out single and Kaley Sullivan walked to put runners on first and second. After a Lindsay Ellenburg strikeout, Ashlyn Newman singled to score Yancey, Sullivan would advance to third and Newman to second on an error by the catcher. Megan Garcia would take advantage of two runners in scoring position with a two-RBI single.
Three runs would be just enough for Yancey in the circle. Yancey went all seven, giving up two runs — one earned — on nine hits, walking one and striking out five.
The Wolves will continue Crossover play today against Delta State at 11 a.m. and Southern Arkansas at 1 p.m.
UWG baseball: The Wolves dropped their series opener at Lambuth on Saturday, 14-13.
