Mrs. Willa Dean Aldridge, 82, of 175 Dogwood Circle, Tallapoosa, passed away March 21, 2011. Mrs. Aldridge was born in Ellijay, Ga., on May 8, 1928, to the late Claude and Flora Ellis Mathis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rayford Aldrige; a son, Jerry Aldridge; and brothers, Richard and Audi Mathis.
Mrs. Aldridge was a member of Desota Baptist Church of Rome, Ga., and retired seamstress with Darsey Manufacturing in Tallapoosa, Ga. She enjoyed going out to eat with Martha Nell, Mark Waldrop and Jane Rodgers, sitting in the swing with all her friends from Dogwood Circle, and her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Aldridge is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Rose Aldridge of Lincoln, Ala.; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Nelson Chandler, Cindy and Doyle Patterson, all of Tallapoosa, Gail and Ran Godwin of Dalton, Ga., and Sharon and Ricky Folsom of Buchanan, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Miller, Bobbie Burton and Inez Tumlin, all of Rome, Ga.; and brothers, Harry Mathis and B.C. Mathis of Rome, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Bray and Charles Munroe officiating. Music was provided by Harold McWhorter. Pallbearers serving were Scott Chandler, Eric Hildebrand, Corey Patterson, Jason Rush, Eric Morgan, Austin Wright, Marty Patterson and Joe Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were Martha Nell Waldrop, Mark Waldrop and Jane Rodgers.
Interment followed in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Horace C. Kimball, 85, of Mormon Church Road, Buchanan died March 24, 2011. He was born in Haralson county on Jan. 22, 1926, son of the late James Roy Kimball and Julia Bennett Kimball.
Services were Sunday, March 27, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with President Dennis Dean, Elder Kim Hardin, Elder Max Kimball and Elder Steve Kimball officiating. Burial followed in Brannon Perryman Cemetery.

Ruth Williams
Ruth Chandler Williams, 98, of Beech Creek Rd., Tallapoosa, Ga., passed away March 18, 2011. Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Tallapoosa to the late Thomas Jefferson and Idella McWhorter Chandler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George Henry Williams; infant granddaughter, Lisa Claire Williams; grandson, Gregory Williams; five sisters; and four brothers.
Her life’s work included serving the Lord, gardening, cooking and sewing. She showed her love for her family and friends in the sharing of these talents. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Nancy and Charles Johnson of Tallapoosa, Nellie Jean and Jerry McGuire of Waco, Jack and Claire Williams of Waco, and Joe and Linda June Williams of Tallapoosa; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church with Dr. Mason Bush and the Rev. Kevin Ayers officiating. Music was provided by Nancy Allen, Jackie Jones, Joyce Williams, Jennifer Johnson and Terry Youngblood. Pallbearers serving were her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jeffery Wiliams, Kent Williams, Keith Williams, Eric Williams, Chris Johnson, Andy Johnson, Josh Williams, Skylar Williams and Tyler Williams. Honorary pallbearers were James Hughes, Kenneth Williams, Bobby Joe Layton and Joe Evans.
Interment followed in Bethany Church Cemetery with the Rev. Homer Hulsey officiating.

Mrs. Ruth Foster Snow, 85, of Whispering Hills Drive, Bremen, passed away March 28, 2011.
Mrs. Snow was born on Feb. 13, 1926, in Carroll County, Ga., the daughter of the late Manuel Foster and Mary Ellen Mabry Foster.
A retired seamstress of Sewell Manufacturing and a member of First Baptist Church of Bremen.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall F. Snow Sr.; sisters, Sara Cox and Olivia Bell; and a brother, George Foster.
Survivors include children, Marshall and Sarah Snow Jr. of Bremen; Mack Snow of Los Angeles, Calif., Milford and Beverly Snow of Tallapoosa, Melvin Snow of Atlanta and Marvin and Kathy Snow of Waco; sisters Clara Denney of Bowdon, Faye Nell Pitts of Creston, N.C., and Beatrice Hancock of Villa Rica; sister-in-law, Jeanette Foster of Villa Rica; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 29.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Brother Herman Parker and the Rev. Ronnie Brooks officiating. Music will be provided by Harold McWhorter. John Barkley, Kenneth Snow, Kasey Cauthen, David Brown, Justin Barkley and Richard Snow served as pallbearers.

Rayford McKenzie
Mr. Rayford A. Lands McKenzie, 55, of Bremen, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was born July 31, 1955, in Carrollton, Ga.
Mr. McKenzie was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of New Lebanon Baptist Church of Newnan, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. J.E. McKenzie; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alver L. Lands and Mr. and Mrs. R.H. McKenzie.
Survivors include his mother, Lorene McKenzie; children, Joshua McKenzie, Jason McKenzie and Jared McKenzie, all of Bowdon; sisters, Debbie Argo and Barbara Hemrick, both of Newnan, and Dianne Morgan of Thomasville, N.C.; brother, Dennis McKenzie of Lenexa, Kan.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Flemming and Mr. Dennis McKenzie officiating and Mr. Eddie Argo with a eulogy. Music was provided by Debbie Argo.
Pallbearers were Jared McKenzie, Jason McKenzie, Jess Argo, Jonathan Argo, Nathan McKenzie, Daniel Morgan, Craig Hemrick and Sammy Bowling. Eddie Argo, Colon Hemrick and Alan Morgan served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #143 making the flag presentation.

Bertha Mary Buntz Cash, 77, of Tampa, Fla., passed away peacefully March 12, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
Bertha was born in Cuba, spent 40 years moving throughout the U.S. and abroad, finally settling in Tampa in 1974. Bertha was beautiful, both inside and out, and was loved and admired by all who knew her. Bertha spent most of her life being an incredible loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and volunteer.
Bertha was preceded by her father, Robert W. Buntz and son, Timothy Neal Cash.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Buntz; brother, David Buntz; her husband of 60 years, Bevearddge (Bud) Leslie Cash Sr.; son, Beveardge (Butch) Leslie Cash Jr.; daughter, Lisa Cash LeGrand, Simone Cash Hollar; sons-in-law, Steve LeGrand and Otis Lea Hollar; granddaughters, Rachel, Ryann, Spenser, and Erin.

Mrs. Leola Ruth Goolsby Skinner, 85 of Meadowbrook Road, Carrollton passed away March 24, 2011.
Mrs. Skinner was born on Oct. 4, 1925, in Haralson County, Ga., the daughter of the late Robert Espy Goolsby and Winnie A. Helton Goolsby.
A retired inspector of The Arrow Company and former employee of Haralson Nursing and Rehab. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Buford Skinner; sister and brother in law, Lois & Melvin Wingo and brother, Ollie Lee Goolsby.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Geraldine and “JR” Lewis W. Earnest Jr. of Carrollton; brother & sister in law, Charles and Edwina Goolsby of Tallapoosa; grandson, Michael Walter and Jennifer Earnest; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Earnest; several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Pat Gentry of Tallapoosa.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at The Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Pesnell officiating. Music was provided by Harold McWhorter. Dan Henderson, Lee Carroll, Earl Wingo, Terry McBrayer, Tony Gentry and Mike Earnest served as pallbearers.
