Fazio's 4 goals lift Lady Trojans

The Carrollton High School girls soccer team netted 10 goals and shut out Shaw in Friday’s Region 6-AAA road contest.

Kate Fazio scored four and Isabel Rothschadl scored three goals, while Heather Joyce added two goals and two assists. Ashley Adams, Clancy Tuggle and Morgan McDonald also had assists in the 10-0 win.

The Lady Trojans (5-1-1, 2-0 Region 6-AAA) will host Oxford (Ala.) on Monday.

Carrollton boys 6, Shaw 0: The Trojans (4-2, 2-0 Region 6-AAA) used four first-half goals and a hat trick from Homero Perez to get their second region win of the season at Shaw on Friday night.

Along with Perez’s three-goal performance, Trey Camp added two goals and an assist, Juan Vargas scored a goal and Tyler Edwards picked up two assists for the Trojans.

Carrollton will host Oxford (Ala.) on Monday.

Prep Baseball

Carrollton JV baseball 3-9, Central 2-1:
The Trojans (6-0) took game one of the JV matchup against Central 3-2, as Will Hesterlee picked up the win for Carrollton and Tucker Reynolds secured it with the save. Cade Crawford led the Trojans offensively, going 2-for-2.

The Trojan bats came alive for Game 2 in a 9-1 victory, with Brandon Pedigo getting the win on the hill.

Christopher Hicks went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, while Drew Dickey went 2-for-3 and Ty Wood went 1-for-2 with three RBI.
