Villa Rica JV powers past Panthers

The Villa Rica High School junior-varsity football team improved to 3-1 on the season with a convincing, 48-0 victory over Chapel Hill on Thursday evening.

Villa Rica got scores from seven different players on the night.

Emerick Foster, Darious Harris, Tye Hill, Yassar El-Amin, Trystan Rozier and Quinton Rush all scored on the ground and Isiah Roberts caught a touchdown pass from Noah Smith for the Wildcats offensively.

Following the seven touchdowns, Brock Love went 5-for-6 on extra points and Chris Ballinger made the only try he attempted.

Defensively, Malik Thompson had a standout performance in leading the shutout.

The Wildcats will hit the road next Thursday to play at Lithia Springs.

Carrollton 8th grade 36, Temple 14:
The Trojans (4-0) came back from an early 14-0 deficit to score 36 unanswered points to remain unbeaten this fall.

Just after the Tigers scored to go up 14-0, Lee Kay picked up a 40-yard touchdown run to make it 14-7 and Andy Smith found Hunter Hines for a 35-yard touchdown pass, and with a pair of Thomas Culwell extra points, the game was tied 14-all at halftime.

The second half was all Trojans and a lot of Ladamian Hunt.

Hunt scored a two-point conversion on Sam Barge's 20-yard run to give Carrollton its first lead at 22-14. Then Hunt scored on a pair of 30-yard runs, with Smith connecting to Kay on one two-point try for the final 36-14 margin.

The Trojans travel to Central next week for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.

Bremen 8th grade 34, Bay Springs 14: Led by quarterback Nick Voiles, the Blue Devils picked up the 20-point win against the Bobcats.

The scoring for the Blue Devils (3-1) was started on a 25-yard run from Brent Dobbs. Then it was all Voiles.

First the quarterback connected with Wade O'Neal for a 34-yard touchdown pass, then Voiles had a one-yard sneak for a touchdown and finished the day off by scoring on a 12-yard run. After that, Voiles did it defensively with a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Bremen will face Mt. Zion next Thursday.
