Carrollton Elementary School kindergarten teacher Cessany Montcriol gives a static electricity demonstration using an electric wand and pieces of foil Thursday at the Mabry Center for the Arts on the Carrollton City Schools campus. The demonstration was part of the school system’s STEM Showcase.The wand creates charges that forces the foil to separate to create the sphere and also pushes it away from the wand giving the appearance of defiing gravity. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the integration of science, technology, engineering and math and its impact on learning in the classroom.
