Strickland fires perfect game for Bowdon

Trinity Strickland tossed a perfect game to lead the Bowdon High School softball team to a 9-0, five-inning Region 5-AA victory over Manchester on Wednesday, marking the squad’s sixth win in a row.

The Red Devilette senior right-hander faced 15 batters and struck out 12, while also going 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs and an RBI.

Along with Strickland’s multiple-hit performance, Jacole Stephens (2-for-3, 2B, HR, 2 RBI), Katlyn Buchanan (2-for-3, 2 2B, run, RBI), Madison Runyan (2-for-4, RBI), Lindsey Sprewell (1-for-1), ReShay Brewer (1-for-2), Sydney Boddie (1-for-2), Ember Wood (1-for-3, 2 RBI) and Madison Dye (1-for-3) also had solid showings at the plate.

Bowdon (10-5, 3-0 Region 5-AA) continues its busy stretch with a home game against Jordan today and will then take part in the Carrollton Trojan Slam at the East Carrollton Softball Complex on Friday and Saturday.
