The early season success continued for the Holy Ground Baptist Academy football team as it earned a win in the first game at their Roopville home field with a 44-22 victory against Life Christian on Friday night.

Things started well for the Stallions (2-0, 1-0) as they opened the game with a blocked punt and would score on a six-yard run from quarterback Demo Agan for the 7-0 lead.

The Warriors answered back with a touchdown of their own and added a two-point conversion to take a short lived 8-7 lead.

It would be a holding penalty in the end zone following a Jordan Edwards punt that pinned the Warriors deep in their own territory that gave the lead back to Holy Ground at 9-8.

On the ensuing drive the Stallions would find the end zone with Agan running it in, again, from 23 yards out to lead 16-8 at halftime.

In the second half it was all Stallions — and Agans — early.

Deangelo Agan scored on a 12-yard run, Demo Agan scored on another run and the two would connect on a 23-yard pass play to go up 37-8 after three quarters. The final Holy Ground score of the night was Deimarkys Agan who scored on a four-yard run to put the game away.

Life Christian added two more touchdowns late in the game for the 44-22 final score.

On the night the Stallions racked up 525 yards of total offense with 390 of those yards coming on the ground. Defensively Garrett Denney and Connor Muse forced a fumble each and Edwards picked off a Warrior pass as they held Life Christian to just 146 total offense yards.

The Stallions will continue their season Friday night in Stockbridge against Peoples Baptist Academy with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
