The Holy Ground Baptist Academy football team put on a dominating performance in its 56-6 thrashing of Westside Christian on Friday night in Roopville.

The Stallions (4-0, 2-0) racked up 387 yards of total offense — 332 of which came on the ground — while the HG defense also got in on the action, scoring a pair of touchdowns and recording a safety in the rout.

After holding the Warriors to a three-and-out to start the game, HG quarterback Demo Agan connected with Walt Denney on a 35-yard touchdown pass to put the Stallions up 7-0 just two minutes into the game.

The Stallion defense then went to work, with defensive end Michael Yates stripping the ball from the Warrior quarterback and rumbling in from 39 yards out for a score to make it a 14-0 contest.

Garrett Denney delivered the next big defensive blow — forcing another Warrior fumble — and Deangelo Agan scooped up the ball and ran 12 yards into the end zone to stretch the lead to 20-0 after the missed PAT.

Following a Holy Ground safety on a Tyler Wright sack, Demo Agan returned the ensuing punt 55 yards to paydirt for a 29-0 Stallion advantage to close out the first quarter.

Deangelo Agan added a 19-yard touchdown run and Demo Agan tacked on touchdown runs of 20 and 12 yards before the end of the second quarter for the 49-0 halftime score.

On the opening drive of the second half, the Stallions put together a seven-play scoring drive that culminated in a 20-yard touchdown run by Yates to cap off the Stallion scoring.

Westside Christian finally got on the board on a 78-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.

Johnathan McDermitt led the Stallions on defense with an interception and fumble recovery, while Walt Denney posted nine tackles.

The Stallions travel to face their stiffest competition of the year in a region showdown for first place against Praise Christian Academy (5-0, 3-0) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Powder Springs.
