Mr. Walker retired from Walker Meats having worked along with his brother, Donald, as part owners since 1975. He was also a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in law, Jerral Rigsby.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Kidd Walker; their children and spouses, Robbie and Michelle Walker Jr. of Gilmer, Texas, Carol and Clete Shadinger, Robin Cota, Kenneth and Debbie Rollins, all of Carrollton, Ga., and Matt and Ginger Rollins of Hogansville, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane Rigsby, Joan and Jim Cole and Joyce and John Doss, all of Carrollton, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eldred and June Walker of Sarasota, Fla., Jimmy and Janice Walker of Carrollton, Ga., and Donald and Janice Walker of Bowdon, Ga.; grandchildren, Chip, Jack, Gabriel, Caylon, Cashlon, C.J., Blaine, Justin, Ben, Katie, Hunter, Jamie and Bo; also a great-grandchild, Dawson.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 1 p.m. from Bethesda Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Owenby officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Music will be rendered by Carol Jackson and Brenda Cato. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 30, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m.
