Mr. Ray D. Pike, 80, of The Fairfield Plantation Community, Villa Rica, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. Mr. Pike was born May 14, 1932, in Ballplay, Ala., the son of the late B.T. Pike and the late Jessie Harcrow Pike.

He worked in the grocery industry with Kroger for 15 years, and for 19 years owned and operated seven Thrift Mart stores throughout West Georgia. He owned and operated Family Clothes Care in Villa Rica for 25 years and worked almost everyday up until his death. He was the first permanent resident of Fairfield Plantation Community and was an organizing member of the first POA at Fairfield. He was Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Yancey Pike to whom he was married for 34 years; son and daughter-in-law, Doyce and Debbie Pike of Winston, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and David Sparks of Douglasville; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Bill and Jane Upton of Douglasville, Ga.; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Laura and Tommy Edwards, Graham, Ala.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Pike was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. at J. Collins Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Wayne Bray officiating. Music will be by Mr. Kelley McCord and Mr. Jared Edwards. Burial will follow the service in Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, Ala., at 2 p.m. CST.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray, Malicah Ray, Justin Shipley, Ben Marlow, Jared Edwards, Caden Pike, and Trey Pike. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Feb. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Agape Hospice Care Inc., 605 Dixie St. Carrollton, GA 30117.
