Ralph Mickey, age 66, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Tanner Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1946, in Talladega, Alabama, to the late George Mickey and Mable Pope Mickey.

He worked for 30 years as a truck driver for Southwire then later retired and attended King Street Christian Church. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend to all whom he came in contact.

Besides his parents, preceding him in death is a son, Joseph Ralph Mickey; sisters, Olivia Elder and Fannie Gean Wyatt; brother, George Andrew Mickey; god-sister, Lizzie Mae Horton; and god-mother, Mary Lizzie Smith.

Survivors include his loving bride, Phyllis Phillips Mickey; daughter, Natasha Cox; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Anthony Cavender; daughter, Deidra Mickey; daughter and son-in-law, Heaven and Victor Franco; daughter, Angel Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Toni Mickey Jr.; son, Christopher Mickey; son, Steve Mitchell; sister, Laura Mae Winford; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. from King Street Christian with Pastor Jesse Terry officiating and Walter Kight as overseer. He will be placed in the church an hour prior to services. Pallbearers will be Ralph Mickey Jr., Victor Franco, Jay Wood, Donell Dukes, Steve Mitchell, Anthony Cavender, Allen Hammond, Drew Ensley, and Tyrone Woods.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel Friday, March 1, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for any donations to be made to Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
