Kamil McElwee of Lindale holds a yawning Peanut on Adamson Square Saturday at an adoption event. Peanut is one of the 'Homeless Herd,' a group of 17 puppies turned in to the Carroll Animal Shelter after being found abandoned. McElwee is adopting Peanut. Of the 17 pups, 12 are on their way to new homes.
