Nadine Bednar of Roopville passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 3, 2013, after fighting a lengthy battle with health issues. She enjoyed a career as a floral designer for many years and was the former owner of Artistic Flower Shop in Bowdon, Ga. She was a skilled seamstress, an exceptional cook and enjoyed entertaining for others. She had many other passions, such as square dancing, bowling and playing cards with her friends, as well as traveling with her cherished companion, James Windom. Seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought joy to her life as well. During her last few months, she had a very special caregiver, Judy Gilmore, and the team from Compassionate Companions – for whom we are eternally grateful. She leaves behind many lifelong loved ones, whom we ask to use the occasion of her passing to remember and celebrate her life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel with Dr. Steven Peeples officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the funeral home.
