Mrs. Hunt was born in Mobile, Alabama, on July 9, 1925, the daughter of the late Ernest J. Greer Sr. and Mamie Benzing Greer.
Her family moved from Mobile, Alabama, to Miami, Florida, when she was 10 years old. She and her late husband, Leland F. Hunt, lived in Coral Gables, Florida. After his death she continued living in Coral Gables until moving to Carrollton in the late ’90s.
Mrs. Hunt retired from Birdines Department Store as a clerk and was a member of University Baptist Church in Coral Gables, Florida.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Wassam of Atlanta; granddaughter, Tanya Marie Jackson of Villa Rica; great grandson, David Jackson of Villa Rica.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Greer and Ernest J. Greer Jr.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Braswell officiating. Graveside and interment service will be held Friday, September 21, 2012, at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Miami, Florida, at 11 a.m.
