She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Holland Butler, their daughter Brenda Dow and her husband Rolin Dow, two granddaughters, Laura Williams and her husband Ryan Williams and Marion Puchek and husband David Puchek and three great-granddaughters Rachel, Kathryn, and Kyla. She is also survived by her siblings Betha Parrish, Annie Sherman, Gravis Drummond, Toilee Lipham and Sarah Prater.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Mary was born in Randolph County on April 14, 1931 and attended Ranburne High School where she met the love of her life, Holland.
Mary moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1953 when her husband, who joined the Air Force, was transferred there. She enjoyed most of her adult life in Alaska where she enjoyed the great outdoors and traveling around the state. Other travels included all 50 states and 45 foreign countries. Mary was active in her church where she taught ESL classes to foreign nationals and made five different mission trips to Africa, Australia and Russia.
Services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. (Alabama time) from the First Baptist Church of Ranburne.
