Marvin J. Steele, age 71, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Piedmont-Newnan hospital. He was born June 29, 1941, in Carroll County to the late Mr. Harvey Lee Steele and Mrs. Helen Turner Steele.

He worked in the maintenance department at Bonnell for more than 30 years and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Newnan.

Survivors include son, Barry Steele of Carrollton; daughter, Sharon Baker of Panama City, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Janice Davis of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Russ Smith of Moultrie; step-daughter Jean Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Walter Driver of Carrollton; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ruth Bass Steele.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Rick Duncan and Jerome Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. The AmVet Post #143 will perform the flag ceremony.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
