She was born in Cherokee County, Georgia, to the late Joe and Ella Watkins.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Johnson; her sons, Tim and Judy Whitmire and Joe and Dana Johnson; her daughter, Kimberly and Steve Gann; her grandchildren, Tracey and Ken Wiggins, Jeremy and Laura Whitmire, Christy and Donald Daniel, Jamie Whitmire, Todd Holtzclaw, Micah Gann, Laney Johnson, Josie Johnson; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Lester Watkins, and her sisters, Dorothy Vaughn, Ruby Green and Myrtle Richards.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Whitmire; her brothers Floyd Watkins, Lloyd Watkins and Hoyt Watkins; and her sister, Derotha Bagwell.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home on Thursday December 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Ivan Watkins officiating. Internment will be held at Cleburne Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.
In lieu of flowers donations will be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
