The Carrollton High School volleyball team saw its historic postseason run end in the quarterfinal round of the Class AAAA state playoffs on Saturday against top-ranked Sandy Creek in Tyrone.

The Lady Trojans (26-9-1) dropped the match in three games — 25-9, 25-18, 25-15 — to see their season come to a close.

In just the program's second season, Carrollton made tremendous strides under coach Kasey Austin, earning its first playoff wins with a first-round victory over Redan at home and a second-round road win at South Effingham.
