Mr. Harold Norton, 74, of Carrollton, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012. Mr. Norton was born in Carroll County, Ga., on May 2, 1938, the son of the late Will Norton and Mary Dingler Norton Wilson.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, was retired owner and operator of Norton Radiator, a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Richards Norton; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Dana Norton; daughter, Debbie Willard, all of Carrollton; grandchildren, Jared Norton, Amanda Norton, Lauren and Ron Lunk; great-grandchild, Lizzie Lunk; brother, Richard Norton of Carrollton; sister, Mary Ann Williams of Carrollton; brother-in-law, Kirby Patterson of Carrollton.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Opal Norton Perry, Ray Nell Norton Jenkins, Joyce Norton Thomas Patterson; brothers, H.G. “Bud” Norton, and Oscar William Norton.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Harris officiating.

Pallbearers will be G. H. Gilbert, Ted Beavers, Ellis Skinner, Tom DeFreitas, Alan Thomas, Julian Cook, Bart Stone and Donnie Lassiter.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1293 Sandhill-Shady Grove Rd., Carrollton, GA 30116.
