The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office has closed June with numerous arrests.
In one case, two brothers received assault charges in the beating of a man, who was also later shot after participating in an arm wrestling game with one of the brothers.
Early last month, investigators reported to 701 Friendship Church Road in Buchanan after getting a call that someone had been shot. According to Sheriff Eddie Mixon, before investigators arrived at the scene, the suspect, 41-year-old Eric Pollard, called 911 and said he shot the victim and wanted to turn himself in.
“The victim, age 26 of Buchanan, had been shot in the lower part of his back and had also received injuries to his head, arm and facial areas,” according to a report compiled by the sheriff’s office. “The victim was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.”
Investigators later determined the suspect’s brother, 39-year-old Danny Pollard, also of Buchanan, had beaten the victim with a pipe wrench and shovel after the suspect and victim participated in an arm wrestling game.
Investigators charged the suspect with aggravated battery and aggravated assault for his role in the beating and shooting. His younger brother also received aggravated assault charges. Both are being held in the Haralson County Jail without bond.
In a separate case, investigators arrested Waco residents 20-year-old Ronnie Keith Davis Jr. and 21-year-old Leann Christine Fox in connection with a burglary at a Nitra Road residence in Bremen.
“A resident on Nitra Road reported that someone had took a 12-gauge shotgun from his residence,” Mixon reported.
Investigators learned that Davis and Fox had pawned the gun at a local pawnshop. Investigators later recovered the gun and both suspects were charged with theft by taking.
Davis is being held at the Carroll County Jail on unrelated charges and Fox is currently in the Haralson County Jail pending a bond hearing.
In addition, June marked the end of an investigation into a May 30th burglary that happened on Roy Dean Road in Buchanan where a 2004 Kawasaki dirt bike was taken.
Mixon reported the arrest of 19-year-old Dallas Keats of Buchanan and charged him with one count of burglary.
Investigators recovered the bike after talking to the individual Keats sold the bike to.
Keats is currently being held in the Haralson County Jail for the burglary charge in addition to an aggravated battery charge he previously received in a separate, unrelated case. Keats is awaiting an $18,000 property bond hearing.
Sounds like your son just needs to grow up and stay away from people who force the dope down his throat and grow a set of balls--If he truly didn't do anything to those kids, he shouldn't have pled to anything...
Did you know that the District Attorney works for the COUNTY- NOT for You???!!! They will do what they have to do to get someone to plead in a case because that is one less case the COUNTY has to spend money on to go to trial.
Public Defenders work with the District attorneys on a regular basis and if they can get away with not having to go to trial to defend someone, they will. They will just convince the person that if they did the crime, then the plea deal will be the best thing they can do because a jury could sentence them to a much longer time, and often do.
