Garrett had two six-yard touchdown runs, a 10-yard scoring run and an 80-yard touchdown pass to Luke Shadrix to go along with a two-point conversion pass to Lance Waldrop in the big win.
The scoring started on Denzel Cooper’s seven-yard run following a Devonte Cade interception, and with a two-point try from Ethan Nield, the Trojans (5-0) went up 8-0.
In the second half, B.J. Williams scored on a 12-yard run, Dante Wigley added a 30-yard run and Garrett rounded out the scoring with his second six-yard run.
Damian Cox came up with an interception to stop a late Alexander drive and end the game.
The Trojans will wrap up the season next week at New Manchester.
In other prep football action from Thursday night:
Carrollton 9th grade 54, Alexander 34: A big offensive night from Conrad Jackson and a solid defensive effort from Keegan Hill helped lead the Trojans (3-1) to a 20-point win at Alexander.
Jackson was the Offensive Player of the Game, as he scored on rushing touchdowns of 60 and 35 yards. Defensively, Hill earned those honors with a pair of interceptions returned for touchdowns — 90 and 50 yards.
Also scoring for Carrollton was quarterback Jett Driver on a two-yard run, Amajay Wadley on a five-yard run, Demarius Owensby on a 10-yard run and Angelo Osorio on a 15-yard run.
Defensively, the Trojans also had four fumble recovers with one from Driver, Jamario Gamble, Roury Glanton and Rakwon Gilbert.
Next week, Carrollton will host New Manchester in the season finale.
Carrollton 8th grade 28, Heard County 14: The Trojans (6-0) came back from a pair of seven-point deficits to defeat Heard County in the regular-season finale.
After Heard County took a 7-0 lead, Sam Barge scored on a 20-yard run with Thomas Culwell’s kick tying the game at 7-all.
The Braves came out and scored first in the second half to go up 14-7, before Carrollton scored 21 unanswered points.
First, Barge found the end zone again, this time from five yards out, to tie the game back up. Then Ladamion Hunt scored on a 40-yard run to take the lead and added a 15-yard run to put the game away.
Carrollton will open the playoffs at home next Thursday.
Bremen Middle 28, Haralson County 14: Brent Dobbs’ big day helped lead the Blue Devils (5-1) past Haralson County.
Dobbs scored three touchdowns on runs of 35, 38 and 12 yards. Skyler Greenhall added a touchdown pass to Nate Daniels from 33 yards out for the fourth Bremen score of the night.
The Blue Devils added a pair of two-point conversions, as Adam Carroll passed to Davis Wilson and Nick Voiles passed to Wade O’Neal.
Next Thursday, Bremen will play in the first round of the playoffs.
Mt. Zion Middle 44, Temple 26: The Eagles, led by Brian Turner, Kareem Walker and Richard Farely, defeated Temple on homecoming.
Mt. Zion came out strong, taking a 36-6 lead into halftime, and put the game away in the final two quarters.
Turner had a pair of interceptions on the night and returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown. C.J. Ackles also had an interception in the win.
