Ernest J. Moore, 81, of Tyus Carrollton Road, Carrollton, Ga., died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

Mr. Moore was born Aug. 19, 1931, the son of the late Ernest Lee Moore and Mabel Smith Moore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was retired as the Southeast regional director of the Federal Bureau Prison, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia H. Moore; sons, Jim Moore of Tomah, Wis., Mark Moore and Brian Moore, both of Carrollton, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 31, at 12:30 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, Ill., with Rev. Tony McManus officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Bryant, Josh Moore, Joe Rexing, Brad Lee, Robert Lee, and Rev. Tony McManus.
