Mr. Emmette “Carl” Stallings, 82, of Whitesburg died Friday, October 19, 2012. He was born December 7, 1929, in Carrollton, Ga., the son of the late Emmette Carl Stallings Sr. and Franceina Pittard Stallings.

Mr. Stallings was the owner-operator of Atlanta Tire Treading for more than 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Whitesburg Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Heard Stallings of Whitesburg; sons and daughter-in-law, David Stallings of Carrollton, Gordon and Phyllis Stallings of Marietta, and Philip Stallings of Whitesburg; and three grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery in Temple with Minister Barry Shoemake officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
