Mr. Eddie Roy Walker, 90, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Mr. Walker was born in Ellijay, Ga., on Oct. 20, 1922, the son of the late Earnest Fletcher Walker and Lena Baker Walker.

He was a veteran in the U. S. Navy, where he served as a gunner aboard the U.S. carrier The Antietam during World War II. He retired as a technician from BellSouth and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Debra Walker, and daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Robert McDonald, all of Carrollton; and grandchildren, Jessica Walker and Luke Walker.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Walker; daughter, Linda Walker McNeely; and sister, Maybelle Benefield.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hall, Bert Hall, Chris Justice, James Lumsden, Robert McDonald and Luke Walker.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with the American Legion Post No. 143 making the flag presentation.
