Mr. David Thackston, age 60, of Carrollton passed away on October 5, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Thackston was born on November 12, 1951, in Atlanta, the son of the late James “Rip” Thackston and Marvine Waters Thackston. David worked in Commercial Construction with Beers Construction and was a member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church.

He is also preceded in death by his sister, Gail Hulsey.

Mr. Thackston is survived by his wife, Tammy Mooneyham Thackston; two daughters, Jena and Randy Massey of Douglasville and Heather and Kirk Waddell of Hiram; four grandchildren, Drew Massey, Ryan Massey, Brady Ingram and Brendan Ingram; mother, Marvine Thackston of Dallas; two brothers, Larry and Denyse Thackston of Hiram and Dwane Thackston and Mark Alexander of Decatur; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Cochran Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Rickey Eaves and Reverend Dwayne Hewett officiating. Music will be provided by Amanda Hewett singing “From This Moment,” Joy Carroll singing “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross” and Jeff Eberhart singing and Becky Bearden playing the “How Great Thou Art”.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, October 8, 2012, from 12 noon until the memorial hour.
