Mr. Ervin was born on March 1, 1951, in Shelby County, Tenn., the son of Mildred Higgins Ervin and the late Jerald Lee Ervin.
He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Summit Oil Co. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church, member of The Wise Men and veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Edmondson Ervin of Temple; children and their spouses, Jimmy Ervin of Bremen, Robyn Stewart of Temple, Carey and Mike Bruning of Shelby Township, Mich., Christy and William Caldwell of Woodland, Ala., and David and Jessica Ervin of Temple; mother, Mildred Higgins Ervin of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Terry Goin of Tupelo, Miss., Tonya Ervin of Memphis, Tenn., Tammie DelAngel of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Janice Ervin of Iuka, Miss., Steve Ervin of Denver, N.C, and Jeff and Keiko Ervin of Memphis, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 13, from 4:30-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 14, at 11 a.m. at Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen with Minister Phillip Wynne officiating. Music will be by Lauren Clay and The Paul Family. Johnny Ray Truitt, Billy Cleveland, Gary Harris, Larry Farmer, Bill Bruning and Adian Ashmore will serve as pallbearers.
Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
