The Douglas County Board of Commissioners (BOC) will hold a public hearing on its 2010 budget at the 10 a.m. Tuesday regular BOC meeting in Citizens Hall at the county courthouse.
The proposed 2010 budget calls for a general fund of $78.0 million, compared to the 2009 budget of $74.5 million.
Real and personal property taxes are budgeted to rise from $34.2 million on the 2009 budget to $38.7 million on the proposed 2010 budget.
The proposed budget includes cuts in the judicial department from $9.1 million to $8.8 million and in public safety from $36.7 million to $36.0 million.
