Mr. Bobby Argo, 80, of Whitesburg, Ga., passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born May 9, 1932, in Cartersville, Ga., the son of the late Earnest W. Argo and Belle Duke Argo.

Mr. Argo retired after 32 years of service from Douglas and Lomason. He worked the rest of his life as owner and operator of Dixie Street Barber Shop. Mr. Argo was a longtime member of Whitesburg Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother, Earnest Dean Argo Kittle and Harvey Eugene Argo.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janez Bohannon Argo; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Eddie Huckeba and Patty and Kenny Yancey, all of Whitesburg; sisters, Louise Gresham and Hazel Watts; grandchildren, Brandy and Nicole Yancey, Heather and Adrian Zellefrow, Daniel and Katie Huckeba; great-grandchild, Mackenzie Yancey; and two special friends and coworkers, Shirley Lawhorne and Geraldine Rosenberg.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Minister Barry Shoemake, Minister Randy Knight and the Rev. J.M. “Buck” Jones officiating. Music will be rendered by Angie Hawkesworth and Cindy Lowery. Pallbearers will be David Gresham, Dustin Gresham, Jeff Ellis, Josh Hawkesworth, Keith Harris and Calvin Lewis. Douglas & Lomason employees. Members of Mr. Argo’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with Min. Jeff Beckham officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
