Mr. William “Bill” C. McMillon, age 83, of Carrollton died Tuesday, September 18, 2012.

Mr. McMillon was born in Tampa, Florida, on August 3, 1929, the son of the late Robert C. McMillon and Elizabeth Thomas McMillon.

He was a graduate of Auburn University, a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 33 years as Social Security Administration manager. He was a member of Carrollton Kiwanis Club, Duplicate Bridge Club and Carrollton Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his step-children, James T. Sanborn of Atmore, Alabama, Brian D. Sanborn of Anniston, Alabama; brother, Landis T. McMillon of Selma, Alabama; grandchildren, Meredith Luce, Tracy Sanborn, Nora Sanborn, Beverly Sanborn, Jason Sanborn, Amber Sanborn; and niece, Barbara McMillon.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene McMillon, and step-daughter, Martha Sanborn.

A memorial service will be Saturday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at the Carrollton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jan Tolbert officiating. American Legion Post #143 will present the flag.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carrollton Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 14 Maple St., Carrollton, GA 30117.
