Ms. Hammond was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Carroll County, the daughter of the late James Coy Morrow and Lois Sheffield Morrow. She grew up in the Shady Grove Community, a lifelong member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a 1948 graduate of Villa Rica High School. She retired from Data Graphics were she had worked as a proofreader for a number of years. Ms. Hammond was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and enjoyed being active in her community.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Yvonne Hammond and Daniel Hammond, all of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Amy Ginnity of Villa Rica, Richard Hammond of Powder Springs, Senior Airman Colton Hammond of Guam, and David James Hammond of Acworth, and three great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Harris.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 1 p.m. from Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Harris officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery
